My Rating: 7 out of 10 stars
The bad luck begins for Emerald O'Brien after a client leaves a statue of a jade dragon at her shop, and is then struck by a hit-and-run driver right outside her store. To thwart the statue's curse, Em and her friends will have to follow a trail of heartache which leads all the way back to China's Ming Dynasty.
I enjoyed this second story in the Chintz 'n China Mysteries as much as the first. The author herself is a Witch and Wiccan High Priestess, and uses her knowledge of Wicca and Paganism well in these stories, portraying Em's character realistically in integrating her magickal practices with her everyday life. And with just the right amount of the fantastical added in. :)

I've got the first one in the series so far. I can't wait to read them all. I bet you read this as part of a ring. I know Rhonda signed up for it at Club Vlad.
Actually, nope, this copy's mine, but as are nearly 95% of my reads, it was already owed. I swapped with it back in January in Antheras's Mysterious Mysteries swap so it's already reserved for her from that swap.
I signed up for rings for books 3 and 4 though since I only had the first two myself... :D
The VLAD copy is still in the mail to Rhonda, but she actually told me over the weekend that she found a copy of books 2 and 5. She might need to give her copy of #2 to terra57 if it indeed got lost in the mail, since it's out of print and she paid like $9 for her copy. (Heh, I got mine free on PBS. LOL)
